This site has changed course since it was started in 2018. Then I intended on building a general purpose site covering many aspects of blockchains and web3 technologies. Since then I have realised that many other sites do that much better than I can working on my own, so I changed the focus to be more on documentaries and talks about the same things, as there seems at present to be no site that is doing that specifically.
I am particularly interested in examining problems of government overreach, censorship and surveillance, privacy, what has gone wrong with web2, and the idea of creating a new kind of internet, one which is much more decentralised than what the current one has developed into, that rewards content creators, and maintains privacy.
I am therefore interested in such things as web3 technologies such as (Bittorrent, Blockstack, MaidSafe, IPFS), mesh technology (SmartMesh, Skycoin, etc.), alternative social media like steemit, Medium; and projects like Tron, EOS and Ethereum which aim to decentralise the world of apps and DeFi. If we are to build a new world it make sense to start using the technologies that will run it – even when they are still imperfect in many ways – as it will help adoption.
I also post about people who are fighting back in various ways trying to maintain an openness of government, and resisting corruption, surveillance and endless wars. If this site has been useful to you please consider supporting the various dissidents listed in the side bar.
